Monthly Favorites...

I don't have a lot of favorites this month so can keep this short and sweet.

Johnson's Daily essentials refreshing gel - I am an avid fan of wash off cleanser, yes I admit I am lazy. I like to have one in the shower at all times to take of my make-up and cleanse in the morning. Now this is nothing fancy but it dose a job and it does it well. It takes off all my make-up and it has never broken me out. It's also a beauty steal and for those reasons I won't be changing it up next month either.

Bed-Head TIGI urban anti-dotes level 3- These are the salon sizes that I picked up in Tkmaxx and have lasted me ages. I think they were around £13 each. I love the strawberry smell and always get compliments on how nice my hair smells. I have these in level 3 which is for super damaged hair (they come in a level 1,2,3) which mine is as it is bleached and heat styled. The conditioner is a little thinner in consistency than I would normally like but it seems to be working. They make my hair really soft and manageable and I notice the difference when I change back to a drug store brand. I have already repurchased both of these.

Neutrogena Multi-Defence daily moistriser - This is my HG moisturiser I have gone through about 5 of these which as most of you can relate to as a product junkie, is no mean feat. It's just perfect for going underneath make-up as it is super light weight. It sinks into the skin effortlessly. It also claims to protect from 5 main environmental damaging effects which is what drew me to this product in the first place. I don't think the product gets as much love as it deserves.

I haven't been loving anything consistently this month and have been chopping and changing a lot so make-up wise my favorites this month are few and far between;

Mac Cheek and Lip colour in Lazy Sunday- I blogged about this here. I have been reaching for this as my main lip colour since I brought it.

L'oreal top coat in Confettis- I also blogged this here. Now this is my favorite find of the month I have worn it on my nail consistently and keep looking at it. There has been so many new nail innovations in the last couple of years which I brought into at first and then trailed off so this is the first kind of nail effect I have tried in a while and I am hooked!

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in 001 dark brown- Having always has blonde hair and fairly dark eyebrows I never wanted to highlight this further. Until this month that is, I have become a fan of the bold brow and really think is changes the overall look. This has been doing the job perfectly.

Other random favorites this month have been my Yankee candle in Be Thankful which smells divine and also my Michael Kors watch which I blogged about here

I hope everyone has had a really nice relaxing weekend mine has consisted of uni work being in my final year of uni with exams ever looming (eeeeeek).

What have you been loving in the month of Febraury?

Mac Lazy Sunday lip and Cheek Colour Review

mac lazy sunday swatch review

mac lazy sunday swatch

On the weekend I went to the Cosmetic Company Outlet in Portsmouth and picked up this perfect product. I have been to the CCO once before and this time I was far more impressed than before. There was so many Mac products I could have gone made but as I only had a few minutes I just picked this one up.It is a milkey pale pink but what I like about this product is that it is so buildable to get a highly pigmented colour or just a subtle tint to the lips. I think this will become a well worn firm favorite in my make-up bag. It was priced at £12.50.

Rihanna Mac collaboration 2013

Rihanna has joined forces with Mac to create this collection. While I love rose gold at the moment I am not sure about it with the pink. I feel this could be any make-up brand aimed at young girls. While the lipstick would be a no go for me the eyeshadow quad looks really wearable. I'm not sure what the compact is yet, be it a bronzer or beauty powder. To me it resembles a previous release by Elizabeth Arden in their  rose gold collection. I am not sure if I am a fan yet I am sure that this will still be a sell out collection.

Are you tempted by anything?

Mac MSF collection.......

from left to right , By CandleLight,   Soft and Gentle , Redhead

MSF's are one of the prettiest things on the beauty counters and while I have realized that many when swatched give the same result they are just too pretty to look at. For the moment these are the only three I need in my collection however, I doubt it will remain a trio forever.

By CandleLight,  was the fist MSF I ever purchased and it was due to beauty blogs that I did. When it was released in a collection it was coveted  on the blogs so when passing a Mac counter I made a stop and swatch it to see what all the fuss was about. It was love, it gave such a beautiful sheen too the skin that I knew it had to be mine. This has got to be one of my best purchases as years later I still use is at least once a week  and has never left my make-up bag.

Soft and Gentle, was my second purchase. This one has a much more gold tone to it with a lot more sparkle. It has to be my least favorite out of the three purely as I feel it is the least wearable on my NC20 skin tone. I reach for this when doing my make-up for a night out as in that case sparkle is well and truly in.

Redhead,  I brought this when it was re-promoted recently by Mac as had always regretted missing out on the Blonde, Brunette and Redhead collection. This is fairly similar to By CandleLight in that it had more pink undertones than gold. However, what I love about this is you can choose which shades to wear sometimes I just used the shade on the left under my brow or for a pure highlight and sometimes I use more of the right side to make a nice blush.

Tag: 7 Sins

kjkg

I saw this tag going around YouTube and loved the idea of it so thought I would do it even though I haven't been tagged in particular.

THE QUESTIONS!

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

My most inexpensive was a 2 true waterproof eyeliner at £1.99 and I think my most expensive was the Urban Decay book of shows volume 3 which was around £40 I think.

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

This has to be Mac Studio Fix, I love the coverage and the look but I hate that it brakes me out in painful under the skin spots on my chin.

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

This would have to be the Barry M lipglosses in particular the toffee one.

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
I skip primer not on the eyes but all over my face, half due to laziness and half due to I haven't tried one where I feel it made a huge difference to the longevity of my make-up

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

Has to be foundation I am very conscious of having such rosy cheeks and while people are piling on blush I am trying to hide my natural flush.

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

I love really gorgeous brown eyes that have a spark in them.

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

This is a recent wish  but the By Terre under-eye concealer, just because its supposed to be really good but I think its about £28 so can't justify spending the money on it. Although I really wouldn't mind a YSL rouge Volupte lipstick as well the packaging is beautiful.

I tag everyone who reads this x

Lipstick Lovin..

Mac lipsticks have to be my ultimate lipstick due to their creamy consistency on the lips and for me the vanilla smell. My favorite finish being cremesheen. I also think there is a colour out there for everyone. I even persuaded my aunty to try a Mac lipstick when her favorite was discontinued from another brand. She still tells me how much she loves it. Therefore, I feel that these lipsticks are adored by women of all ages. I don't have that many being a student but, here are the few I have accumulated in the last year. Full swatches will appear thought out future posts.

Hyped up products that I'm glad I brought into and a few regrets!!

I'm not going to lie I love a bit of hype on blogger to me I find it exciting to hear about it, then to see it creeping into peoples hauls and finally reviews start popping up on my reading list. I then enjoy a trip into town to take advantage of introductory offers. So yes I'm a sucker for a bit of hype but hey its not doing anybody any harm, well only to my bank balance :)

Here are the products that were hyped on blogger and I'm thankful for as I would have probably over looked them....

I actually like Bourjois healthy mix foundation for when I don't feel like wearing such a heavy foundation and it covers pretty well. I like that it does not have a totally matt finish as I have been into the more dewy look lately. The concealer works really well under the eyes as it is a light liquid unlike more solid concealers which can look cakaey under the eye area. No so good for hiding spots though.

This is my first and only MSF its in "by candlelight" and I only purchased this due to the rave reviews it had on blogger. I can tell you know I am in love with this product i wear it nearly every day since I got it back in January so that is £19 well spent.

I would probably have picked up Maybellines falsies mascara anyway just souly on the packaging but I have really liked it so far there may even be a repurchase in the pip line.

I never looked at Revlon products before I starting reading blogs I always over looked it in Boots and Superdrug but my opinion about the brand has truly changed. I have worn this foundation three times so far and like its natural finish it gives, while concealing fairly well. As of yet I have not had any problems with the much talked about "glitter".

I use this Sleek "storm" pallet on a regular basis and I wouldn't have picked this up in Superdrug had it not been for blogger due to the fact that for the price I would have assumed that the quality of the product was rubbish.

I never wore lipstick before blogger but GOSH darling and Mac's cerem d'nude changed all that for the better.

As well as all the good products I have discovered there a been a few hyped up products I have had a short fling with but the relationship sizzled out fast. Here they are...

mac fix + = Just don't get it
Barry M 101= very dry, makes lips look chapped and also not flattering (on me)
Mac's lipglasses= These glosses sit in the lines on my lips and don't look nice at all

The news year resolutions are nearly all but a faint memory though i am still going to the gym at least once a week, last week a manged 3 visits which as you can tell i am proud of an a little shocked. So here follows my products which have brought me joy over the last month :)

  1. I have been straighting my hair a lot this month so have been using Tony & guys iron it heat defence spray, which keeps my hair straight all day and also smells like you have been in the hear dressers.
  2. I have also be back combing my hair alot this month on night out to get big voulmised hair so i have been using Shockwaves ultra strong hair spray which even hold my hair after hrs of dancing and in a really really hot night club!
  3. Mac minralize skin finish, i have been loving this all month and so glad that i purchased it well worth the money.
  4. i have been applying this mac skin finish and my bronzers with this slanted powder brush by Benefit which allows for such precises application.
  5. max factor second skin foundation, gives a natural finish but yer gives a full coverage hence i have been loving it this month.
  6. maybelline the colossal mascara, gives grate volume without clumping
  7. soap and glory some like it hot thermal body scrub, i was blown away with this product now only does it heat up really really well but it retains the heat better than any other product i have tried, also it leaves skin so smooth smother than any low end brand body scrub i have ever tried.
so hears to march and another month of new product loves and discovery's!!! xXx

January favourites

Well the end of the first month of 2010 is over and i am quite happy about this :D hello February which is going to be a month of partying for me and also getting in shape. Any how moving on to last months favourites.....
from left to right

Maybelline colossal mascara: I have been putting 3 coats of this on and then putting lash blast over the top and it creates great results. It is this mascara which has intrigued me to try their new false lash mascara.

Max factor second skin foundation: I normally use the likes of Mac studio fix , estee lauder double where and benefit play sticks, i like my foundation to be of high coverage. I picked up the as it said it was virtually undetectable able. It says it is medium coverage but i disagree i think it is just as good as any of the above if not better as it is more light weight and belnds more easily. I am sad as i brought this in the summer and now it is to dark unless I'm wearing fake tan so i am definitely going to go and buy this in the lighter shade it my new favourite foundation!!

Mac mineralize skinfinish in "by candle light": so happy i pick this up been wearing it every day since over my benefit hoola bronzer!

NO.7 sauna mask: wow, i brake out on my chin all the time but after using this one evening i woke up brake out free in the morning, I use this once a week and thinking about upping it to two time a weeks, i have purchased a back up with my NO.7 voucher i had recently.

CHI keratin mist: I picked this up on my holiday to Florida after seeing it on YouTube and not being able to find it in the UK, with the combination of giving up the GHDs apart from on weekends and spraying this in every time i was my hair, my hair has grown so much in the last 4 months.

I don't normally do these but after looking through my No.7 collection and swatching the eye shadow in "Mink" I thought i would give it another try. I wore this to work yesterday all over the lid with Mac "satin taupe" On the outer Corner and have to say I fell in love with it and will defiantly be wearing this again during the week!

p.s part 3 of the No.7 posts will be up to night :) x
