Cover FX pressed foundation and primer review

So in my last post I talked about the Cover Fx liquid foundation on the same day I also purchased the Cover FX pressed mineral foundation (in M40 I am NC20 in Mac) which she suggested I used as not only a setting powder but too also warm my face up if my body was getting a bit of a tan.  I was not even looking for a powder as for years have also been loyal to my Benefit get even powder which helps reduces redness which is my main skin concern. However, once she applied this over the Cover FX foundation it gave me a totally airbrushed look which I was super impressed with how it interacted with the foundation.  It is also on the pricey side at £31 (not sure what I was thinking when I thought that was a reasonable price for a powder) but so far have used it every day and loved it. Again the packaging feels cheap and I haven’t put it in my handbag for fear of the powder smashing which when I have paid that price I can’t afford to let happen.

The make-up artist also gave me a sample of  the Cover FX BritePrep FX which contains an SPF 50 but yet feels so light on the skin that it doesn’t feel like you are wearing sun block. It retails for £23, I haven’t finished my little sample yet but am tempted to purchase this to complete my Cover FX routine and purely for is skin benefits which will help prevent premature ageing as my moisturizer only contains an SPF 15.

Lastly I also tired the Cover FX cream foundation which comes in a round pot. It provides the fullest coverage I have ever seen in a foundation the only reason I didn’t go with this one was due to the way it needed to be applied with a brush and blended in which to be seemed more time consuming that a liquid that I was used to. It also had a less natural finish however, it is defiantly something that I am hoping to add to my collection at some stage as think it is actual a unique product. 

 This could well be by new favourite brand for my make-up routine base but will keep you updated.  For those of you who have stayed with me this far thank you!

Cover FX foundation review

Morning all

This is a brand which I hadn’t heard of until recently it was only when I read an article about it in PureBeauty magazine which is one that sent out to beauty retailers although you can find it online here.

This brand was originally on prescription for people with birthmarks and other thing’s you may wish to cover but has now been made available to all.  At the moment it is only stocked in Harvey Nichols but I have also subsequently found it online at House of Fraser. I happened to be browsing in Harvey Nichols due to my hospital appointment being cancelled after traveling all the way to London!

The Make up artist for Cover FX was really helpful and friendly and really listened to my concerns and what I wanted. She tried on several different forms of foundation from their line as well as several different shades without making it seem a hassle.

The first product I purchased was the Cover FX Natural FX water based liquid foundation in E20 (I am NC20 in mac) which provides very full coverage, lasts all day on my skin even better than Estee Lauder Double wear and by some feat does not look cakey. The price is £37 which did make me wince however, I reasoned it that this is something I will used every day on my face  which also helps me to feel more confident about my skin I have even been skipping concealer with this product as it does such a good job. The foundation is made my top dermatologist so it non clogging on the skin and even contains some skin benefits. The only thing that lets this product down is the packaging is not very attractive at all and defiantly does not look like a premium brand. However, the squeeze tube will allow you to get every last drop and for £37 that is defiantly going to be a good thing.

Tuesday chatter...

Good morning!

First thing I was like to say is thank you to everyone who has followed my blog new and old I don’t think I say this enough! I am hoping to do a giveaway when I reach 200 followers and then more frequently after that.  

I have been getting really into the Olympics over the last week even thought I am not normally a fan of sport I have found it rather addictive and love how Britain has really got behind our athletes who have put in more hard work than we probably can imagine.  I don’t think I could get up at 5am every morning to go rowing on a freezing cold lake.   

I was lucky enough to go up to the Olympic park to watch the synchronised men’s diving on Wednesday and the atmosphere was just electric. I came straight home and booked tickets for the Paralympics for the equestrian events up at Greenwich. One because that also looks like they have built and amazing venue but secondly because I have been trying to get back into ridding. It was something I had done when I was younger and now wish I hadn’t given up. The only problem is it is really expensive at £30 for an hour’s lesson. I don’t know if I am too old to really start something from scratch and if I would ever be able to enter any competitions or alike. If anyone has any advice for me please let me know!

Sorry this post has not be very beauty related so to throw something in, here are the colours I have been loving on my fingers and toes in the last few weeks! I am also very excited for the new china glaze chrome collection there looks to be some gorgeous colours!!

I have been wearing Peppermint on my fingers and Aqua cool on my toes. 

Too Faced Natrual eye pallet review

This was on my wishlist for a long time before I managed to pick it up I love Too Faced cosmetics and Urban decay but I wish they were more easily available. For anybody who wants the Urban decay Naked pallet but winces at the price this I feel is a good alternative in someways it even out does the Naked pallet. What I love about this is that it guides you on how to use each shadow in the pallet so it grate for those who are not so confident with putting different looks together.

The day look contains the perfect matt colours for and easy effortless everyday look

The Classic look has some gorgeous shade with 'Silk teddy' being one of my favorite as its defiantly is closely related to Urban decays sin which I raved about here.

With the fashion look comes some unique colour's 'Nude beach' will be loved by those who love glitter in their shadow and be hatted by those who hate chunky glitter with potential problems with fall out. 'Cocoa Puff' which is a dark brown with fine gold glitter in which I think is my winner from this pallet.

Overall it has a grate mix of matts, shimmer and glitter shads the can be worked in many different combinations for those who are colour fobes which I think is quite a lot of us. While I picked it up in Boots in Brighton maybe a year ago you can find it here on Boots.com. £26 is still quite high however, I am sure you would get so much use from this pallet the only thing I think it is missing is a black for a very dark smokey eye but, I am sure most of us have one of those or 20 in our collection.
