Tag: 7 Sins

kjkg

I saw this tag going around YouTube and loved the idea of it so thought I would do it even though I haven't been tagged in particular.

THE QUESTIONS!

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

My most inexpensive was a 2 true waterproof eyeliner at £1.99 and I think my most expensive was the Urban Decay book of shows volume 3 which was around £40 I think.

2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

This has to be Mac Studio Fix, I love the coverage and the look but I hate that it brakes me out in painful under the skin spots on my chin.

3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

This would have to be the Barry M lipglosses in particular the toffee one.

4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
I skip primer not on the eyes but all over my face, half due to laziness and half due to I haven't tried one where I feel it made a huge difference to the longevity of my make-up

5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

Has to be foundation I am very conscious of having such rosy cheeks and while people are piling on blush I am trying to hide my natural flush.

6. LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

I love really gorgeous brown eyes that have a spark in them.

7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

This is a recent wish  but the By Terre under-eye concealer, just because its supposed to be really good but I think its about £28 so can't justify spending the money on it. Although I really wouldn't mind a YSL rouge Volupte lipstick as well the packaging is beautiful.

I tag everyone who reads this x

Boujois Health Mix Foundation review...

I am writing this post while sitting in the library supposedly revising for my European Union law exam and fancied talking about something a little less demanding on the brain.

I seem to have a collection of half empty Boujois Health Mix foundations. There are three reasons for this;

 a) I  travel from home to uni a lot and therefore find it reassuring to have one at each house.

b) I change between shade 51 and 52 depending on the time of year and also fake tan. ( I am NC20 for   reference)

c) I like to buy another before I run out, in order never to experience the horror when you run out of foundation before a big night out or have to brave the high street without your war paint on.

This foundation has been in my make-up bag for around 2yrs, I talked about it recently on my most loved  post Here . So it is only right that I give it review all of its own due to the 2yrs of testing it has been given.

I was always a high coverage girl think Esstee Lauder double-wear,  Mac studio fix and Benefit stick  foundation. I was always looking for one that gave more and more coverage. On a whim when this foundation was doing the rounds on the blogs I tried it and this is when my transition into not so intensely matte and full coverage foundations happened. In fact I am now on the hunt for the perfect coverage with a perfect glow. Link Here  to my post on dewy foundations on my wish list.

I find that this foundation provides enough coverage to hide my red cheeks while also not looking matte and covered in make-up. I even find that it last a good 6hr on its own  and around 8hr with powder (as always not the 16hr it claims). However, if on a windy rainy day like the last few days here in the UK I tend to opt for something with a bit more staying power. I also opt for a different foundation on a night out which is going to last longer in a hot club.

However,  as far as I can see on the packaging it contains no SPF which means that in photos you do not look ghostly white or a different colour to the rest of your body. For a day to day foundation I have no qualms at all and it has inspired me to go back and try other drug store foundations as I believe they have improved considerably in the last 4 years.

The fact I have been coming back to this foundation for such a long time surely means there must be something that keeps drawing me back?

What is your favorite foundation high-end or drug store?

Estee lauder Stay-in-place eyeshadow base review....

Add caption

As you can see I have made a big dent into this, I used it every time I wear eyeshadow which is most days. My eyeshadow ALWAYS creases and I just can't seem to make it last through the day. I purchased this form double wear range after running out of the Urban Decay primer potion as it is hard to buy in the shops so deiced to try something else.

I like how this works almost as a concealer for you eyelids and cancels out any discoloration. You only get 7ml compared to 11ml you get with Urban Decay  . The packaging feel nice and expensive as I always like things that come in glass packaging maybe that's just me.

I apply this with my finger as I find it easiest although you may prefer a brush. I have had it for about 5 months now and have only noticed now that it is starting to dry out. While it is an okay primer, due to my oily lids it still doesn't keep my eyeshadow from creasing although I'm sure it would work on those of you who do not have this problem.  It retails for £14 which is the same as the Urban decay.

I am still on the search of a primer that really keep my eyesahdow in place and believe that there may be better ones out there for me. I am tempted to try the Nars one next.

Any suggestions?

Never Ending Love....

Some products just seem to be in your make-up bag for longer then you realise and yet you never identify them as being one of your must have products. These four products have not only been in my make-up bag for ages some of them seem to go on and on and on.

Urban Decay Naked Pallet- Ever since I purchased the naked pallet over a year ago,  I have never felt a need to buy any other eyeshadow pallet. Every other pallet I see in the shops I compare to this. Not only are the colours brilliant but the quality of the eyeshadow is second to none.

Benefit Get Even powder- This powder at first glance is just your average powder however, it completely cancels out redness more so than any other setting powder I have used. This comes with me in my make-up bag, on a night out and in my handbag. I have used  it on and off almost daily for over two years and yet still I am not finished with it..

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation- I blogged about this foundation right when I started blogging it was only when I was looking through my previous posts I realised how long this relationship has lasted.  There has been flirting with other foundations in-between but I always come back to this. I  must have repurchased at least 5 times.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer- I have had this for about three years using it on a very frequent basis and yet it is still going. Now I know Benefit products are not cheap, but I've used cheaper products like Rimmel and I seem to go through their bronzer within a month therefore the extra money initially is worth it.

What products of yous seem to go on for ever?

Easy like Sunday mornings....

This is just a weekly round up post, this week has mainly been spent doing revision as I study law at uni and have exams in two weeks time (writing the down makes me realise how much work I still need to do) In between revision I have just been going to lunch with friends and even went bowling for the first time in ages. Last nights quick one drink turned into many more and thus maybe not as much revision will be getting done today as it should be.

Here is a weekly round up of posts so feel free to grab a coffee or in my case water and paracetamol and have a lazy Sunday read through.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish review (Cleanse, polish and glow..)

New foundation release (Laying good foundations...)

Mac lipstick collection (lipstick lovin..)

My favorite Urban Decay eyeshadow (Forgive me for I have sinned..)

Happy Sunday everyone x

Cleanse, Polish and Glow.....

I received this as a Christmas present a couple of years ago as I had herd such good things about it from many different sources. I was back home from uni and had forgot my cleanser, I am not a fan of face wipes  as always still feel like I have residue on my face.

This was in my bathroom so gave it a proper trial for the week. I was blown away, from first use. I have actually seen an instant result to my skin it really did have a glow to it after using.  It easily removed make-up including heavy eye make up.

I am one of the unlucky ones who Mac studio fix brakes me out though still persist wearing it occasionally.  I had applied it for a night out before coming home from uni and while I did brake out this cleanser after two days had cleared my skin back up and beyond.

I am lazy and like to wash my face in the shower as it quick and easy.This required more effort as you have to apply to dry skin. However, with the results I am getting I will persist. After finding it so amazing I looked into the ingredients and no wonder its so perfect;

Chamomile, considered a gentle oil by aromatherapists

Rosemary Essential Oi invigorating and stimulating

Cocoa Buttermoisturising effects on the skin

Beeswaxskin protecting properties and helps to relieve chapped skin.

Eucalyptus Essential Oidecongestant properties

Hops Extractastringent and toning properties

On the Liz Earle Website you can purchase it in lots of sizes including a 30ml trial size which I think is a fab idea and wish other companies would do the same. You can also reading over 600 reviews and see numerous awards. They clearly believe in their products and I am not surprised. Very tempted to try out some of their other skin care.

Has anyone else tried anything by Liz Earle, what did you think?

Laying good foundations..

new foundations

I never seem to be completely happy with my foundation.I feel I am not alone on this. Many a time have I looked at other peoples skin wondering how they get such a flawless dewey glow. One person who also has it sport on is Milly from Made in Chelsea, whom my British followers will know. For me coverage is still highly important yet I want it to look natural and dewey. Maybe this is just something that is not achievable? Here are the latest offerings from three different brands which have been circling the blogs and catching my eye. what they claim to do;

Rimmel wake me up- " instantly reawakens skin with a healthy, radiant glow. The light, smooth texture glides on easily to give a 100% pore-less and flawless complexion. Staying put for up to 10 hours and giving you a natural, medium to full coverage." (Rimmel website) £8.99

Benefit Hello Flawless - " Our new oil-free brightening liquid foundation builds from light to medium coverage for a natural complexion you can believe in. It’s you…just more luminous & healthy looking. " (Benefit website) £24.50

L'oreal Lumi Magique-Lumi Magique helps give instant skin radiance. You will be glowing inside and out.
Light texture, let's skin breathe with 24 hours of hydration" (L'oreal website) £10.99

From comparing the claims made my next purchase will be defiantly Rimmel wake me up foundation. It seems to offer good coverage with a dewey finish and good staying power. That's without looking at the price which is also unbelievably good if it delivers!

Have any of you tired any of these foundations what did you think?

Lipstick Lovin..

Mac lipsticks have to be my ultimate lipstick due to their creamy consistency on the lips and for me the vanilla smell. My favorite finish being cremesheen. I also think there is a colour out there for everyone. I even persuaded my aunty to try a Mac lipstick when her favorite was discontinued from another brand. She still tells me how much she loves it. Therefore, I feel that these lipsticks are adored by women of all ages. I don't have that many being a student but, here are the few I have accumulated in the last year. Full swatches will appear thought out future posts.

What is your favorite Mac lipstick?

Forgive me for I have sinned..

Forgive me for I have sinned, I have neglected my blog for such a long time but without making excuse's I am back and hope to constantly blog once a week if not more!

Moving on to my favorite eye shadow of 2012, appropriately named Sin. First discovered due to my unfading love affair with the Urban Decay Naked pallet. This has caused me to purchase the individual shadow more than once. I feel I am drawn to this shadow so often as it has a multitude of uses, on lazy days it can be sweeped all over the eye, on good days put all over the lid with a darker colour in the outer corner and crease and for nights out can even be used as a highlight and an inner corner colour to a smokey eye. It has the perfect metallic finish that makes achieving the fake fresh and awake look easy. For that reason alone this will be a dear friend for a long time to come.

On the note of the Urban Decay Naked pallet which from the photos you can tell has been loved to death and is all I seem to reach for, to all of you who have the Naked pallet 2, Do I need it? Have you found you revert back to the original or is your love for Naked 2 stronger?
